CAbP begins recording first studio release
The band has begun recording its first studio album at their rehearsal loft on Lake Street on the west side of Chicago. Due out in Fall, 2004, the album will feature Chicago Afrobeat Project staples from the last couple of years as well as some surprises.
CAbP locks up hot shows during the first weekend of the New Orleans Jazz Festival
Ever extending its geographic reach, Chicago Afrobeat Project has booked three performances during the first weekend of the New Orleans Jazz Festival:
- Thursday, April 22: Maple Leaf
- Saturday, April 23: The Core at the State Palace Theater
- Sunday, April 24: CAbP Crawfish Boil Party

Thursday, the boys bring their funkified Afrobeat blend to the Maple Leaf, a pillar of the New Orleans jazz scene, as they open up for 2 sic featuring George Porter Jr. and David Torkanowski. Showtime starts at 9 p.m.
Then on Sarurday, The Core at the State Palace Theater hosts CAbP as they open for the Sam Kininger Band. Shotime is also 9 p.m.
Make sure you come hungry on Sunday as the band hosts the CAbP Crawfish Boil in Uptown New Orleans. The show begins at 4 p.m. Call 504.905.7862 for directions.
