8/10 – 8/12: A weekend around the Midwest…

Our first show for the 2nd weekend in August is happening Thursday, the 10th in Madison, Wisconsin at the student Union.  It’s a free show right on the lake (weather permitting).  Last time it was a blast even though we had to move it inside due to cold weather.  On Friday the 11th we’re performing at the River Music Experience in the Red Stone Room in Davenport, Iowa–a great looking room and stage, and it’s a 19 and over show.  Finally, on Saturday we hit Martyrs again as headliners.  In other news, we’re scoping out a 35 foot 15 ton tour bus straight out of the Afrobeat time machine.   You might see us pull up in it really soon.  We’re so excited.

Chicago shows…

The first weekend in August brings us to the Retro on Rosco outdoor festival on the corner of Leavitt and Rosco in Chicago.  We play from 4pm to 5:30pm on Sunday, the 6th.  Our friends Cornmeal are performing right after us on the same stage.  For those interested in an “unofficial” educational performance with many members of CAbP (and a few young guests), check out the Art Institute on Saturday the 5th at the Family Day event.  We perform a short show from noon to 1pm.

July 20th to 22nd 2006: Midwest tour…

This week we’re heading for shows in the surrounding states.  Thursday brings us to Colubus, Ohio for our 1st show at Little Brothers; from what we’ve heard it’s a great venue.   Taste of Kalamazoo in Michigan follows on Friday, once again playing before the Jerry Garcia Band–minus JG,  of course.  It’s really more like the Melvin Seals Band, which is just fine in and of itself….Saturday is a return to Grand Rapids, this time at Ten Bells–a peanut free venue, which is good news for the keyboard player who played our last show in GR doped out on Benadryl (“Bennies” as they’re know on the street).
