Song of the Day: “CUT THE INFECTION (SOL POWER ALL STARS REMIX)”

Sol Power All-Stars are proud to announce that our newest output officially puts our name on the same release with Tony Allen, the man that gave Fela Kuti the rhythms to craft his afrobeat vision.
When Chicago Afrobeat Project hit us up to provide a remix for a reworked version of their 2017 release What Goes Up, our responses were “Yes” and “Let’s do it right now!” We dig how this one turned out, especially since some of our peers that we admire also got the call for this project and turned in some heat as well.
Today marks the official release of What Goes Up Remixed featuring Tony Allen with remixes by Maga BoRon TrentAfroQbanoSound Culture, Jose MarquezKevin Ford and of course Sol Power All-Stars.

Yet even more Midwest dates…

We continue our Midwest touring in Fall ’08 to the states to our immediate west/northwest, but only after a 1 week hiatus.  September 25th brings us to MSU near Minneapolis at the Performing Arts Center–an early show from 7 to 9pm.  Then we continue on to the Zoo Bar once again, in Lincoln Nebraska–site of many a truly revelrous show and some bizarre police interaction due to a drunken altercation with a plate glass window at the clothing store next door.  All’s well in the end….After that, on Saturday, the 27th of September, we hit the Iowa City Yacht Club in, well, Iowa City, IA–our favorite venue to play in IC despite the giant water main line in the middle of the stage.  We seem to be more “invisible” at other venues in that town.  We’ll catch up with our friends in the area when we arrive.  And a fond farewell to our good friends in Euforquestra who moved to Fort Collins, CO.  Guess they like mountains.  Best of luck to them indeed.
