CAbP to feature guitarist Jeff Parker at March “First Beat” show at The Note

Chicago Afrobeat Project and Jeff Parker will appear onstage together March 5. CAbP’s “First Beat” series which began almost two years ago has been drawing packed houses the first Saturday of every month. This late-night appearance at 1565 N.Milwaukee Ave, in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood, draws a diverse crowd, filling the club to capacity with frenzied dancers until the liquor license ends and the sun begins to rise.

Jeff Parker is best known for his guitar work with the Chicago super-group Tortoise, as well as performing with Isotope 217, the Jeff Parker Trio as well as many others. Tortoise helped place Chicago on the musical map by revolutionizing American indie rock in the ’90s by fusing together a variety of musical genres. The tasteful guitar playing of Jeff Parker mixed with the dynamics of CAbP will present a truly original evening of music in the Windy City.
